Ostriches run through the African savannah at speeds of up to 70 km/h. One incredible speed considering she is 2.8m tall and weigh up to 160 kg. Ostriches also lay the largest eggs of the world. They weigh up to 2.5 kg and their shell is so hard that an adult can stand on it without them breaks. It is said that when birds are in danger, they bury their heads in the sand put. In reality, however, they lie flat on the light Sandy soil, which means that only the body can be seen, but not the Head. The African ostrich can run up to 70 km/h.
